Describe your contributions to and achievements in family planning.

I’m a SRHR and Family Planning Advocate. Being an active part of Lawyer community, I have believed on struggle for justice and “My Rights My Voice”, that was based on SRHR & issues. I’ve been able to bring innovations into social, behavior and economic change through promoting human rights and peace culture in the Pakistani society. I have been able to bring innovations into social and behavior change communication programming in Pakistan for promotion of reproductive health in general and family planning in specific. This includes a number of self-sustaining initiatives that I have conceptualized and been able to institutionalize. I have established a network i.e “Youth for Human Rights” (YHRP) working for the meaningful partnership of young people at policy level.

What sparked your passion for family planning?

Infant mortality rate in 2018 for Pakistan was 63.3 deaths per thousand live births. Infant mortality rate of Pakistan fell gradually from 66.8 deaths per thousand live births in 2015 to 63.3 deaths per thousand live births in 2018. When we urge to serve community we see their problems very closely and we find out that every single problem the community is facing is because of the big family size.

Give one or two examples of how you display leadership in your family planning work.:

I initiated 2 campaigns e.g.“Human Rights to Eliminate HIV/AIDS” & “Be a Social Change through Struggle for Justice and My Rights My Voice” to spread awareness regarding the prevention of HIV/AIDS, SRHR and FP. As a part of the leading international and national organizations, I have spread awareness on SRHR, HIV/AIDS prevention and FP. I have founded organization i.e "Youth for Human Rights Pakistan" to engage youth to be active members and change agents.

If you are named a winner of 120 under 40, how will you use this new platform and the $1000 grant to advance your work? :

I will be establishing and strengthening our youth group (network i.e YHRP) for Family Planning and SRHR. I will be advocating through SRHR & FP education, workshop and awareness rising campaign and seminars to spread proper SRHR and FP education and to prepare young activists for FP in Pakistan. I am passionate about training youth on gender and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) to make them leaders and amplify their learning.
