Describe your contributions to and achievements in family planning.

In March 2019, I led a team of 10 to conduct long term family planning activation in Greater Accra region. After the program, we were able to get 3000 women who went in for either IUD or implant and were very happy with the service they received. I also conducted a study on "barriers to the use of family planning in Norther Ghana" to understand the limitations on contraceptive use. In addition, I initiated a proposal between my organization and Sightsavers International Ghana office to work on a joint project on making family planning accessible to persons living with disability (PWDs).
I have facilitated the training over 1000 health providers on the provision of LARCs and provide them with instruments used for the procedures

What sparked your passion for family planning?

It all started when my neighbor died from unsafe abortion because at the time in my community, we had little to no knowledge about family planning. I started talking to the health workers to asked what could have been done differently and that was the first time I heard about family planning. I took an interest in sexual and reproductive health from that moment. My drive landed me in DKT and passion for women autonomy in family planning made me the lead actor in LARCs services in DKT.

Give one or two examples of how you display leadership in your family planning work.:

I facilitated capacity building workshops of healthcare workers on family planning including the Ghana abortion law. I also assist in the designing of BCC materials to educate the Ghanaian populace on family planning. I supervise the work of 40 community representatives on family planning education and counselling and referrals to increase access. I am the focal person for a network of private facilities in the provision of family planning between my organization and network members

If you are named a winner of 120 under 40, how will you use this new platform and the $1000 grant to advance your work? :

when I win, I will create a platform on social media and also organize community forum with brail BCC materials on family planning to enable PWDs read and understand SRH so that they can make an informed decision on reproductive health rights and not for family to force them into violating their own rights. "it is not for us if it's without us", PWDs will be involved in it all and peer educators trained on SRH communication to assist their peers in accessing family planning when they need to.
