Krishna Raju is a very determined and focused for his working on SRHR Family Planning, he has been working since very long and his dedication and devotion in SRHR shows is seriousness in family planning leadership. – Ashok Kumar Seejuwani, Soft-Skills Trainer at The Innovators
Describe your contributions to and achievements in family planning.

I have challenged the misconception and cultural values on FP and Sex&Gender with help of my knowledge about the SRHR and FP. I am working on SRHR since2016 breaking the stereotypes norms, patriarchal and religious values, which inbuild from the birth of the child. Providing awareness/training/workshops/seminars/campaigns on SRHR, FP and focusing on Gender Equality, I have trained almost 200+ girls&boys and made agents of change for meaningful youth participation, SRHR and Gender Equality. I also worked with the doctors & healthcare providers on FP & SRH, making them accountable to deal & counselling for their regular patients. Because of my passion & dedication towards the FP and SRHR, I have been awarded fellowship of Women Deliver from Pakistan.

What sparked your passion for family planning?

Young People are often deprived to get SRH Info & FP Service to protect themselves from abuse, exploitation & diseases in Pakistan. I have gone through it by myself being a young person and bear the psychological trauma of judged by health care provider. YP are victim specially young girls don't know about their rights of Safe Abortion, even abortion is legal in Pakistan. Their is a dire need to create an enabling environment for young people to get SRH & FP Services at all level in Pakistan.

Give one or two examples of how you display leadership in your family planning work.:

I belong to Schedule Cast Community Called Maheshwari in a conflict prone area of Karachi, Pakistan. I am the first person in my community who is working on SRH & FP and working to uplift the YP of my community. I am the only ONE who started from grass roots and reached at international SRH Forum like Women Deliver Young Leaders Program. As a Saying said "Charity Begins at home", I challenged my community norms and bring my younger sister in SRH field and she has exercise her SRH Rights.

If you are named a winner of 120 under 40, how will you use this new platform and the $1000 grant to advance your work? :

I will use this grant to advancing my current work on effective implementation of Sindh Child Marriage Restrict Act 2013 & service delivery of FP in local and hard to reach areas of Pakistan, where YP even don't know their basic rights. My aim is to create a society where every young person specially young girls can access the quality SRH and FP facilities, aware YP on SRHR and safe practices, who are living in backward areas of Pakistan, where they don't get youth friendly health services.
