Well known for advocacy of establishing youth friendly health centers at family planning site to avoid stigmatization and adults visible intimidation ... – Nominator
Describe your contributions to and achievements in family planning.

In 2013 as a young leader sponsored by the Gates foundation to attend the International conference on family planning I joined a team of young advocates to co-found the International Youth Alliance on Family Planning.
Back home with my level of involvements at the community district and county by advocating for the set up of youth friendly health Service center I was overwhemingly
elected by my colleagues to sparehead the Population Service International (PSI) youth council project on FP and YFHS with in Montserrado County, the most populated county in Liberia .
Today, through such project there have been established YFHS centers and the relationship between young people and service providers are cordial.
Currently, I am a young leader Women Deliver

What sparked your passion for family planning?

I grew up in a family with a single female sibling . We share so much love and fun. This soon came to an end by the day we learned she was pregnant and was asked to live with her spouse.
This was an early and unprepared pregnancy. I believe she encountered such experience because of the lack of FP education and Services.
This unexpected situation has since built up my enthusiasm to stand up for young females who may probably lack FP information or lacks the Service.

Give one or two examples of how you display leadership in your family planning work.:

Like most of the time, I do remember taking the lead to persuade adults/ parents with strong traditional beliefs which prohibited the used of FP. They believe their children shouldnt get involved with the service. They also believe that FP is an abomination and against their way of life.
In the community and at the University I stand to initiate FP discussions among folks who totally don't agreed with FP.

If you are named a winner of 120 under 40, how will you use this new platform and the $1000 grant to advance your work? :

Presently, I am working with a certain only female clinic . At this clinic I see the need for a YFHS center. With such amount, I can help with the construction of this center. Young females who attend this clinic need to have access to fp with out fear of stigmatization or traditional phobia because of the presences of adults.
With such platform of similar minds I can get involve with bigger campaigns and projects to help establish more YFHS centers around Liberia ..
