My active works in FP began in 2009 when I joined the IFMSA as a member and later Director of the standing committee on public health (SCOPH) and also standing committee on reproductive health including AIDS (SCORA). My recent work is "A WORLD WITHOUT AIDS" by NAIJAHEALTH,a 3-month campaign to educate and empower over 100,000 Nigerian community residents (precisely mothers and girls) with proper and detailed information about FP, HIV and AIDS not exclusive of a peer-education to change unhealthy sexual behaviors and practice safe sex at all times. The continuity of the project includes a 13 episode TV film on SRHR. Presently,i co-direct a project (MCH-NECO 2017) with a mission to bring maternal and child mortality to the bare minimum and stabilize the population growth in Nigeria.
My passion for family planning sparked from my undergraduate days as the acting IFMSA standing committee on reproductive health director (Ukraine) and my obstetrics classes (med school) but fully gave impulse immediately after my onsite study (GLOBAL HEALTH CHALLENGES) at Copenhagen School of Global Health. Where i clearly understood the need for family planning and the role of medical students, young medical doctors and youth in family planning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfBYPtB3Ixk
I take pride in my innate project implementation and leadership potential.I have founded, co-founded and led many organizations and projects. From managing several PROJECTs at NAIJAHEALTH Campaigns, to structuring IYAFP, UNFPA YOUTH advocate, to successfully executing a social impact and feasibility FP study for many organizations including Lagos state government, Kharkiv city, UNICEF and MSH. I bring an enthusiastic spirit, an analytical mind, and a passion for my work and to everything I do.
Our current project, Maternal and Child Healthcare in rural communities aim to bring maternal and child mortality to the bare minimum; to end mother-to-child transmission and stabilize the population growth rate. We produced over 10,000 educational kits (books and VCDs which are translated into local languages) to educate rural residents on sexual and reproductive health and rights not excluding FAMILY PLANNING.
With no doubts, the grant if received will be invested into this project.
