Imali Ngusale

I support and strengthen family Planning Country program interventions in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania where I support the training of youth champions who advocate for increase of domestic funding at sub-national level. I also support Technical Working Groups meetings at sub national levels to increase their asks for family planning through technical support (i.e World Contraceptive Day Forums).
The fact that there are so many young people who are at risk of procuring unsafe abortion (which more often than not leads to death) has triggered in me an unrelenting passion to support advocacy work. In my current position, I collate information from sub national and national level and help my organization to develop new Advocacy Asks with a specific bias on Youth Friendly services. The difference between youth who lead healthy lives and the ones who do not is information
I support Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania to share their stories through writing, leadership in this work is peer to peer. I begin by involving everyone, asking about their opinions but tailoring those opinions towards a specific objective.
I will use the $ 1000 to make mini-documentaries in East Africa(Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania ), translate these stories into vernacular languages and use social media , learning institutions, CSO coalitions and TWGs with specific decision makers to cascade the knowledge and essence of family planning to a wider audience.
