Describe your contributions to and achievements in family planning.

Family Planning has been one of my thematic areas for helping humanity. Being an executive member of Anambra State ACG, I was part of the team that lead advocacy visits to Stakeholders in the State in respect to family planning. This resulted in creating a separete budget line for Family Planning in Anambra State ( First of its kind). A budget of 50 Million Naira and two Million Naira approved for 2019.
My advocacy in the field of Family Planning and my face to face dialogue with youths on their choice now make youths in my community to openly air their view in Family planning.

What sparked your passion for family planning?

Being born in the family of three makes me see large family size as ABNORMAL and expensive. At the age of 14, a close neighbor of mine who should be about 17 years was forced to marry an old man because she got pregnant out of wedlock. This made me wonder how she copes with it as we normally refer to her husband as her "father"
My profession as a midwife makes me see on daily bases the pains women pass through in the course of childbirth.
All these motivates and sparkes my passion for FP

Give one or two examples of how you display leadership in your family planning work.:

As the Anambra State Coordinator for IYAFP, I ensure that members of IYAFP in the State are fully involved in matters of the organization. Thus, encouraging them to contribute as much as possible.
Also, I delegate members to represent me in certain meetings in the State Ministry of Health.

If you are named a winner of 120 under 40, how will you use this new platform and the $1000 grant to advance your work? :

I will use the grant to cover more in family planning especially in the hard to reach areas within the State.
Also, being a winner of 120 under 40 will enable me achieve my dreams in Family Planning. Which is "HOMOSAPIENS BY CHOICE" .
