Describe your contributions to and achievements in family planning.

1. I have been able to advocate for more youth friendly corners where youth can access information as well as family planning services, as a result of my leadership in advocacy, in the current 2017-2018 budget funds have been set aside for establishment of four youth friendly facilities in Kakamega county, kenya,
2. I was part of the team that traveled by caravan from Kenya to Rwanda through Kampala uganda to attend the 2019 Africa Health Agenda International conference where more focus was on universal health coverage, I took part in development of the communiqae that was developed and shared with the UN government. Contraceptives for youth was a component in the document.
3. I have organized school health talks on contraceptives in 15 institutions in the past

What sparked your passion for family planning?

Being a curious youth I learned that many youth have had a number of unintended pregnancies which led to unsafe abortions which most results into death and quite number of school dropouts, through school heath sessions I further learned that the whopping high number of teenage pregnancies within the county were as a result of not having right information and not knowing where to access services and available contraceptives for the youth, I therefore came in to make the youth informed

Give one or two examples of how you display leadership in your family planning work.:

1. I sit at the youth action movement national level as a secretary to meaningfully represent other youth in voicing their rights in issues Sexual resproductive health, including family planning
2. I have been a youth lead in mobilizing young people to actively participate during the public participation during the budget formulation cycle, my focus being family planning and Reproductive Health

If you are named a winner of 120 under 40, how will you use this new platform and the $1000 grant to advance your work? :

1. Empowerment : I will use the funds to empower 100 youth with knowledge on family planning health rights, available contraceptives and where/platforms to voice their rights.
2. I will partner with other stakeholders to conduct 5 family planning outreaches which will see 50 youth accessing long term contraceptives and 100 youth accessing other methods including information and counseling.
