Franklin, a Women Deliver fellow and World Contraception Day Ambassador, developed a mobile app named M-Sathi for Peer Educators to teach Comprehensive Sexuality Education for all 29 states of India that benefited over 2560 youths so far. – Rakibul Hasan, Fellow at Women Deliver
Describe your contributions to and achievements in family planning.

As a young leader I have taken some significant efforts on family planning for instance, I have developed an Interactive Mobile App named 'M-Sathi' to teach Comprehensive Sexuality Education to young people in India. The app is free available in Hindi and English on google play store for young people to download and self learn. The app has till date been used by more than 2500 young people. I have also produced two short documentaries on 'What Sex Health Education means to you - Urban Indian Youth Voices' and on 'Transgender Protection Bill - Voices from the community'. These documentaries have been screened in 7 colleges in India. Besides this i regularly train young volunteers or Restless Development India on implementing the comprehensive sexuality education curriculum in schools.

What sparked your passion for family planning?

I believe that Family Planning is a Fundamental Human Right and that no one should ever be deprived of it no matter where he/she belongs or lives. Having worked in an organization that is youth led and having SRH rights as one of its core objectives for over six years I have witnessed how these rights have been denied to young people due to , Cultural, Social, Gender Bias & due lack of information or wrong information and even due to Poverty. These experiences led me to design programmes on FP.

Give one or two examples of how you display leadership in your family planning work.:

I have designed and developed mobile app young people to learn on comprehensive sexuality education, this app is available on google play store in Hindi and English. I also produced two short documentaries on issues related to Transgender Protection Bill and on Need for Sex Health Education -Urban Youth Voices' Both these projects were led by me from inception to evaluation phase of the programme.

If you are named a winner of 120 under 40, how will you use this new platform and the $1000 grant to advance your work? :

If I am named a winner, I will use the grant to upgrade my current mobile app (M-Sathi) by translating and taking it forward in more Indian vernacular languages. Hence it will be helpful for individuals who do not read English or Hindi.
