Describe your contributions to and achievements in family planning.

As a result of our impact in the lives of 1113 adolescents we helped create awareness in seal abuse and teenage pregnancy prevention project in secondary schools, religious organisations, families and individual sInce 2017, it has been a major milestones for our organisation and our teenage pregnancy prevention project still continues. We also collaborate with the gender and sexual violence department of the Kaduna State police headquarters in working with the sex offenders as this will help in coming up with a preventive method for sexual abuse as this is one of the factors of unwanted pregnancy. 93 sex offenders has since been worked with.

What sparked your passion for family planning?

I was a victim of Sexual abuse as a teenager which resulted in an unwanted pregnancy and eventually a baby girl whom I hated and never cared for until later. This sparked my interest in child Sexual abuse and teenage pregnancy.

Give one or two examples of how you display leadership in your family planning work.:

We launch a teenage pregnancy prevention projects in secondary schools in two local governments in Kaduna state and also raised more awareness on male sexual abuse both on the radio and organisin seminars.

If you are named a winner of 120 under 40, how will you use this new platform and the $1000 grant to advance your work? :

I will extend the teenage pregnancy prevention Project to other Local government and also collaborate with other organisations of like interest to come up with policies on Family planning in creating more awareness most especially in the northern part of Nigeria as this will reduce the manace of the almajiris.
