Describe your contributions to and achievements in family planning.

I was a leading team player in implementation of Birth Spacing and Family Planning USAID funded project in multiple district of Pakistan, where situation of population growth is worst compare to world other countries. During implementation I led my team as a frontline team player. I suggested innovative ideas for the mobilization and awareness of communities especially the married and child bearing age women. Implementation of these activities brought very positive result in the overall increase of Contraceptive Prevalence Rate in these area of Pakistan. This awareness to the families and involving the husband and wife in decision making for using and choice of usage of any contraceptive decrease the unmet need ratio of women for any type of contraceptives.

What sparked your passion for family planning?

Looking to the situation of population growth and limited resources in my country always have a spark in it to make some contribution to aware the families especially the couples (Wife and Husband) on family planning. Family planning enable the parents to keep good care of their children and provide them the necessary facilities especially the good education. Family planning will help he parents of children to take good decision and follow their children future well.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your family planning efforts, and what have you done to overcome it?

The biggest challenge was the religious factor, because the people living in our rural area give too much importance to the messages of religious leaders and most of the religious leaders in our country are against family planning. This created too much hurdles in our mobilization work in communities and some time even the communities refuses to set in our mobilizations sessions designed for them. Second challenge was dealing with government department and using their human resource.

What is your (country/region/city)’s biggest challenge in family planning, and how can it be addressed?

Religious factor are the most biggest challenge. This can be addressed by involving the moderate religious leaders in this process and research must be carried out with these type religious leaders on different saying in Quran and by Profit Muhammad (PBUH). This will help to create awareness among the communities by presenting these research to them by these religious leaders. Print Media and Government system can also help to overcome these challenges too.

What do you want to accomplish in the next 5 years?

I want to be part of a team which can contribute to increase the awareness of communities, bring changes in life of families and can work for the betterment of families to enhance their children and families life standards.
