By rebranding a state-level youth club in creating new generation vocal and well-informed youth on Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights.Engaging different sectors with the knowledge of Family Planning and teaching school children about contraception – Nominator
Describe your contributions to and achievements in family planning.

Creating discussions and imparting knowledge on family planning to nearly 50 women in refugee communities, 100 school children, 20 corporate personnel, 150 working women, 300 University Students and more than 10,000 social media users. Using different methods such as advertising games for the young people, infographics for online audience, open booths for the general public, Sexuality Education Talks for undergraduates and workshops for adults in 2 years span on a voluntary basis in Malaysia. I lead an online social media #SayaTentukan Campaign, Malaysia's chapter of worldwide #IDecide campaign in 2018-2019. Being the voice of young people in Malaysia for Sexual and Reproductive Health, I vowed to continue the work with creating the new generation of Malaysian Youth Champion.

What sparked your passion for family planning?

The unspoken consequences of lives without contraceptions in vulnerable communities and the powerful impact on women's liberation in the presence of family planning as well as the exciting future of innovation in contraception. How a simple knowledge on awareness and availability of contraceptions able to aid in ending the cycle of poverty. Knowing things can be done and can be changed fuels the fire to my burning passion in advocating for well-informed family planning.

Give one or two examples of how you display leadership in your family planning work.:

Elected as a Youth Chairperson for Malaysia's Federation of Reproductive Health Association Malaysia, I represent Malaysia's youth in the matter of Sexual & Reproductive Health. Responsible in delegating communication, create tools and schedule Contraception Workshop I have initiated the revival of Sexual & Reproductive Health state level youth club in moulding young people to be the present and future leader of Family Planning and SRH under Freha Youth Initiative (FYI).

If you are named a winner of 120 under 40, how will you use this new platform and the $1000 grant to advance your work? :

Amplify efforts in creating the next generation of youth family planning leaders . The $1000 will be spent towards a state-level capacity building of young advocates namely Freha Youth Initiative (FYI) as a pilot project and implement it nationwide. Exploring the possibility of incorporating social entrepreneurship, sustainability and innovation in the long run by not restricting the discussion being held solely in the circle of SRHR or family planning sphere but also integrating others.
