Describe your contributions to and achievements in family planning.

As a young health professional and a social worker, I have through Consummate Health Foundation (NGO) engaged quite a number of people, especially young people to educate on family planning as a corporate social responsibility.
Having been brought to the known about some facts on the levels of rejection and knowledge gap in Africa on issues concerning reproductive health and matters of birth spacing and the correct planning of birth amongst couples, I decided not to rest on it as a young health professional but ensured through advocacy to promote family planning, and I have, through the little knowledge I have acquired educated a lot of people on personal basis, as well as through mass campaign and the media, ensuring that the knowledge-practice gap currently existing reduces drastically

What sparked your passion for family planning?

Having read several research materials on the levels of population growth and it's direct consequences on citizens especially in Africa and how the acceptance of family planning can curb that significantly motivated me to take lead in this matter to help push it become sustainable as expected
Interestingly, research/UN report(2017) did indicate that about 225mil women in developing countries had an unmet need for family planning. There's therefore the need for everyone to get on board

Give one or two examples of how you display leadership in your family planning work.:

My ability as a co-founder of my organization to organise health personnel to remote places to educate people clearly indicate my desire to push the family planning agenda
Continuous engagement with youth groups, often in a tete-a-tete to empower them to accept family planning, as well as other adolescent health issues clearly indicate my desire and leadership shown
I have through several ways ensured that my organization liases with some well grounded organisations to promote family planning

If you are named a winner of 120 under 40, how will you use this new platform and the $1000 grant to advance your work? :

I will, as I have started already ensure that education on family planning goes deep into the understanding of the people
I will therefore ensure that regular education on family planning and the benefits on the individual, family and the nation gets deeply rooted into them, by bringing together health personnel to embark on vigorous campaign in schools, churches, etc
I'll also do well to finance at least a research work on how well to succeed in the promotion of family planning in Ghana
