Describe your contributions to and achievements in family planning.

Have worked to increase the number of youths and adolescents that are accessing SRH services through our school to school SRHR Campaign. The health at your door step services is what I helped to carry-out through the community outreaches to areas with poor access to SRHR especially family planning services and cervical cancer screening test. Training of CHEWs attached to the clinic in other to extend SRH services to the people living in their posting locations. Providing clinical support and supervision to nurse-midwives trainees during practical attachment.

What sparked your passion for family planning?

Experience they said is the best teacher. In 2013 when I went to India for a surgical treatment, a pregnancy test was conducted and the result was positive. The doctor said " madam, how did you allow yourself to be pregnant in this condition knowing that a major operation will be carried out on your leg". I didn't say anything to him because I was short of words. After the surgery, I obtained a family planning method and also underwent a course to become an SRHR service provider

Give one or two examples of how you display leadership in your family planning work.:

Advocacy visit to communities and schools where my team will visit for service delivery and health talk. These involved discussing with the significant person's like the chief , elders , school principals to let them know the relevance of our package to their members and at the same time map out a convenient date and time for the outreach to take place.
In addition to the the above is the mobilization and a Recruitment of youths and adult volunteers that assist us in creating SRHR awareness.

If you are named a winner of 120 under 40, how will you use this new platform and the $1000 grant to advance your work? :

A well designed e-health and m-health will be created and fully utilized to increase access to SRHR considering that we are in era of advanced information technology. This approach will assist even those with low/poor access to SRHR to solve their health issues by sending and receiving accurate and relevant information.
E-learning and m-learning will also be instituted to train and educate people without fees.
Training of health worker in adolescent SRHR in other to provide unbiased services
