Describe your contributions to and achievements in family planning.

Member of IYAFP since March 2018,I am committed to improving the sexual and reproductive health of young people in Haiti. Through IYAFP,I started by sitting with some institutions working in the field. Then,I started to raise the awareness of the young people of the communities by conferences, my first conference was in September 2018 and I was moved to see FP2020 make a post on this activity. Then I launched November 30, 2018, a school sex education program in the presence of 4 schools with 78 students. My involvement in several organizations and on social networks makes me one of the choices to raise awareness, which is why I was selected by the Techo organization to raise awareness in a community far from the capital. In June 2019, I was one of the two trainers of 27 Mentors In SRH.

What sparked your passion for family planning?

Being a medical student and young, I have always been sensitized by public health issues considering my experiences at the health commission in the young MP's room. But it was with IYAFP (International Youth Alliance for Family Planning) that I developed a deep love for family planning given the focus and direct contact I had with communities. So I found the need that I work to reduce early pregnancies in a way to control juvenile delinquency and to reinforce young people's sexual behavior.

Give one or two examples of how you display leadership in your family planning work.:

Aware of the lack of access to information on sexual health in Haiti, the demographic problems and the impoverishment of families in a country of 60% of young people, I found it essential to start with the base. That's why I started a school-based sexual health program in November 2018. Feedback was good on the side of students and principals. In June 2019, I helped train 27 Mentor girls from different communities. Each of these Mentors is responsible for a EspasPa M(MySpace) to educate teenager.

If you are named a winner of 120 under 40, how will you use this new platform and the $1000 grant to advance your work? :

Winning this distinction would strengthen my abilities as a young leader in Family Planning. I will use this platform to network with other family planners in the "120 Under 40" distinction. These funds would be used to successfully run the school-based sexuality education project by using the fund to print and multiply outreach materials, obtain illustrative materials and expand the program. I will also be able to create the '' talk to me '' virtual space to advice adolescents.
