- Advocacy : for Madagascar Family Planning law, change from 1920 to 2016. we advocate on FP access for all and to young people from 15 years, without necessarily parental or adult consent to obtain the method of their choice. We sign MoU with the Ministry of Youth, Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Health to help each other collaborate in the fight against early and unwanted pregnancies.
- Provide FP products and services with social marketing we attended to CYP 975,782 and 720, 431DALY's in 2015. we introduced a new condom just for youth.
- We contribute to the sensitization against early and unwanted pregnancies. we use all communication channels, but we now are stepping on the events and also the Interpersonal Communications. We integrate gender approach inour FP program.
The Role of Family Planning is to prevent, accompany, inform women, but also men, on their right to live their sexuality freely, giving them access to sexual health. The access to modern contraceptive methods are essential for right reproductive health. But it is not enough to fight for these rights,It must be legally register at the country and ensure its applicability and applicate. All these fights are going through the sex education at all ages of life, to all men and women to be responsible.
Family planning among young people is not fully accepted by society including the government. a large advocacy have been done to pass the law at the National Assembly, it was already a big advocacy to have the Ministry of Health accepted it. currently the Ministry of Health policy looking towards the clinical side not public health side and it makes disadvantage in the Family Planning. The culture is a big challenge, and the gender norms too. The society is a barriers for Family Planning
We noticed a lot of inequality between men and women in our culture and our society. women almost never have a choice for their sexuality, they marry very young, They have child when they are very young and have many children because children are considered like wealth. The problem of gender always persist. the rumors about the side effects of Family Planning methods also persist and are often used as excuses to refuse the use of modern methods. religions and taboos.
for the next five years, it is necessary that the Law of Family Planning is established and applied. It also requires that the country meets its commitments for the FP2020 and ferociously we will contribute to the achievement of this commitment. Improving the accessibility of FP in rural areas and for youth . we conducted a population behavior change facing the family planning and reproductive health in general. Make that women have more rights and choice for her sexuality.
