Describe your contributions to and achievements in family planning.

I am a youth activist, SRHR, and HIV/AIDS advocate. I use peer education as a tool to advocate youth on family planning and SRHR. I started as a trainer and peer educator of YPEER Pakistan. I have been a SRHR trainer of YPEER Pakistan and worked with hundreds of youngsters. I have been leading SRHR and family planning projects. For two years, I served IYAFP as a member of Pakistan Chapter and worked on Your Life Your Choice project in Lahore, Pakistan that has changed the lives of 3500 youngsters. I was a youth delegate at ICAAP 11, AIDS 2016 and AIDS 2018 conferences.

What sparked your passion for family planning?

The poor health conditions for young people in my country motivated me to take a stand and change the lives of young people. The SRHR and family planning situation and facilities are miserable overall and we need passionate young people to come forward and take a stand.

Give one or two examples of how you display leadership in your family planning work.:

I am a current Training Officer at Hashoo Hunar and provide skills development training and SRHR advocacy to young girls. Also, I was a member of IYAFP Pakistan chapter for two years and co-led the campaign at the National level. I co-started My Life my Choice youth awareness-based family planning project in Lahore Pakistan and led the youth volunteer program. Further, co-led the SRHR based Youth Health Friendly Helpline.

If you are named a winner of 120 under 40, how will you use this new platform and the $1000 grant to advance your work? :

In small villages/towns of Pakistan, we don't have doctors available and also employment opportunities for girls are low. So, I will train young girls as midwives so that they can learn skills and develop their careers. At the same time, they will change health uncertainty in rural places and will be a positive addition in the community. It will reduce death mortality rates in pregnancies and will improve health conditions for girls and women.
