I know my Nominee since 2008 and has championed so many programmes on sexual and Reproductive Health and right of women and most especially campaign for family planning both in the market place and social media. He has played key role in FP. – Nominator
Describe your contributions to and achievements in family planning.

I came into family planning advocacy far back 2008 when I noticed our women died during child delivery and the rate at which lack of family planninf knowledge caused like poverty, unwanted pregnabxy etc. I then joined Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria PPFN as a youth volunteer to campaign and sensitise our women. I have been to the market, use social media platform, sexuality symposium and has engaged in one-on-one sensitisation. Now 85% of our women visit our clinic to access family planning. As a youth volunteer I also ensure I use the Adolescents as a means of sharing information to their parents on family planning.

What sparked your passion for family planning?

What sparked my passion for family planning was the rate at which our women died and inability to cater for their children dew to lack of knowledge about it. I discovered an organisation who provides such services and decide to volunteer for them to save our future. Now I can say with fact that it has been reduced compare to before. In 2008, I created an health club in 5 secondary schools in lagos, Nigeria to enlighten the generation coming on family planning and sexual Reproductive Health.

Give one or two examples of how you display leadership in your family planning work.:

I use to volunteer 3 days in a week to visit market places because women are largely found in the market. I visited the market with posters talking about family planning and also visit the media houses to talk about sexual and Reproductive Health with my youths. I used to have monthly discussion with women who their husband's refuse them from going for family planning methods. To train them on best approach on how to convince their husband.

If you are named a winner of 120 under 40, how will you use this new platform and the $1000 grant to advance your work? :

As a young leader, I so much believe in platform. This platform will help FastTrack my innovations in respect to family planning. I will ensure that we engage in massive publicity on all social media across the country, publish more posters and handbills and work in partnership with civil societies working with women. I will establish a centre where women comes for counseling on family planning. And lastly do a short video on family planning on the 3 major language in Nigeria.
